SLOPES
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a new blog or gallery on the site and coincidentally, the last time was also about Colorado! Last year’s trip featured a different element of warmer weather and lots of hiking. This trip was all about the winter snow!
It was my second ever ski trip - the first being a couple years ago with my good friends Tyler and Avery. This year was supposed to be a repeat, but unfortunately Avery was unable to make it at the last minute. That didn’t stop the indomitable duo of Tyler and I tackling 3 different slopes at Breckenridge along with runs at Vail for the first time. Between all the skiing, there were several other adventures. Tyler tolerated my inner aviation nerd with a trip to the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum which had a full size replica of Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing! We also hiked a mile-long loop called Sapphire Point which offered stunning views of Breck, Keystone and Lake Dillon. Perhaps bringing on even more of an adrenaline rush than skiing was a snowmobiling adventure we went on! We met up with my friend Karalyn and her sister Jana to rent snowmobiles and plow the snow all the way up to 14,000 ft. and -15 degree weather to the Continental Divide. Thank the Lord that the handlebars on those snowmobiles had hand warmers!
Florida is home, Hawaii is paradise, but Colorado has become my third favorite state and I hope for many more adventurous trips there in the future!
