SEPTEMBER 13, 2020 - Jaguars vs. Colts
It was a Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season, and it felt surreal just typing that. Even just a couple months, or even a few weeks ago, I had my doubts about this year’s football season even beginning. Somehow, things came together and the football kicked off. So much uncertainty surrounded the time leading up to the game. Will football happen? Will there be fans in the stands? What if a player tests positive? And for us photographers, would we be allowed to shoot? Well, we were allowed to shoot, but the guidelines set in place changed our game day as well. There will be no shooting from the sidelines on the field this season, meaning we were positioned in the seating bowl of the stadium, free to roam around so long as we do not block or create a hazard for the decreased amount of fans. Jacksonville was one of only two teams to allow fans in Week 1, with Kansas City being the other. The amount of fans allowed made their voices heard and helped power a Jaguars team to their first Week 1 home opener victory since 2011. Below is a gallery of images I captured shooting the game!
