SEPTEMBER 18, 2022 - Jaguars vs. Colts
THE STREAK CONTINUES
The home opener during Week 2 of the NFL season saw a familiar division rival come to Jacksonville - the Indianapolis Colts. A team that lost a win it and make it into the playoffs game here to end last season. A team that hasn’t won in Jacksonville since 2013, on the same day that Odell Beckham Jr. made that miraculous one-handed catch for the New York Giants. There was no doubt that this game was immediately circled on the Colts calendar once the schedule was released. Maybe it was a revenge game in their minds. An opportunity to start this season with breaking the curse of finally winning a game in JAX again. The Jaguars did not let that happen though. In fact, they didn’t even let the Colts sniff the possibility of leaving here in victory. The Jags completed dominated in all facets of the game, leading to a 24-0 shutout and extending the Colts winless streak in Duval County. This game gave Jags fans something they haven’t seen in a while. A stifling, turnover forcing defense which sacked Matt Ryan five times and forced three interceptions. It was also one of Trevor Lawrence’s best games in his young career making reads and throws that we all hope to see more consistently from our young QB. It also showed that this coaching staff, led by Super Bowl winning Head Coach Doug Pederson, is the complete opposite of last year’s disastrous staff. Week 2 ends with the Jags in sole possession of first place in the division, and hope that this season turns the competitive corner for a franchise long stuck in the mud.
